What is Seraphinite?

Seraphinite is a variety of the mineral clinochlore from the Lake Baikal region of eastern Siberia. Its dark green body is filled with silvery, feather-like chatoyant patterns that shimmer as you move it. The trade name refers to the seraphim, the six-winged angels, because the patterns resemble feathers.
