Kambaba jasper, also sold as crocodile jasper, is a dark green rock with black and green circular patterns. It is often described as containing stromatolites – layered structures built by ancient colonies of microorganisms (cyanobacteria), among the oldest signs of life on Earth – though its exact makeup varies. Material comes from Madagascar and South Africa.
