What is Cavansite?

Cavansite forms vivid blue rosettes and balls of radiating crystals, usually on white stilbite or other zeolites. Its name comes from its chemistry: calcium, vanadium and silicate. It was first described in 1973 from Oregon, USA, but the finest specimens come from quarries at Wagholi, near Pune in India.
