What is Heliodor?

Heliodor is the golden-yellow variety of beryl – a sibling of emerald, aquamarine and morganite – coloured by iron. Its name comes from the Greek for "gift of the sun". Fine crystals come from Volodarsk in Ukraine, Brazil and Namibia.
