What is Pink Opal?

Pink opal is a common opal – it doesn't show the play-of-colour of precious opal – with a soft, even pink colour. The best-known source is Peru. Its colour is often linked to tiny mineral inclusions such as palygorskite. It is sometimes confused with pink chalcedony or rose quartz.
