What is Spirit Quartz?

Spirit quartz, also called cactus quartz or fairy quartz, is quartz whose central points are covered in hundreds of tiny druzy crystals, often in amethyst lilac or citrine tones. It is found in the Mpumalanga region of South Africa, where it formed as a second generation of quartz crystals grew over earlier ones.
